The 2 main functions RankBrain has two main tasks: 1. Understanding search queries (keywords) 2. Measuring how people interact with the results (user satisfaction) In short, RankBrain goes beyond simple keyword matching. It converts the search term into concepts and tries to find pages that cover that concept. But the big question is: Once the algorithm presents a set of results, how does it know if it's really good and meets the users' requirements? The answer is: observes and records. RankBrain presents a set of results to search engines that it thinks users will like. If a lot of people like a particular page in the results, it will give that page a ranking boost. And if the page is not liked? Well, it is easy to understand that he will drop the page and replace it with a different page.

And the next time someone searches for that keyword (or a similar term) , they'll see if the new page will perform better. And this is why website SEO has become more than just putting keywords in the right places on the page… What "signals" does it read? But what is it LOB Directory noticing to… flip the pages? According to Brian Dean of Backlinko the algorithm pays special attention to how people react after clicking on the search results. Specifically, it examines the following: – Organic Click-Through-Rate – Dwell Time : the time a Google user spends on your site after clicking on a search result and before returning to the search results page.

Bounce Rate – Pogo-sticking (the process in which a user clicks on a result, doesn't like what he sees/doesn't answer his query, returns to the search page, clicks another, etc. until he finds what he wants answers his search) Collectively, the above are known as user experience signals (UX signals) . Is RankBrain the new way Google ranks websites in search results? Search Engine Land has put together a very informative Q&A about the algorithm. That's where the answer comes from: "No. RankBrain is part of Google's overall search "algorithm," a program used to index the billions of pages it knows about and find the ones most relevant to specific queries.
